Knowing VS Signs

Besides the obvious UFO and Religious connections, I felt that Knowing and Signs shared some additional similarities.

The way the parent characters charge outside with a baseball bat trying to intimidate the aliens, the children seem to know more than the adults about what is occurring, the aliens were scouting ahead waiting for a particular day to arrive(I guess most alien movies do this anyway), They leave strange evidence behind wherever they have been, both male children lost their mothers, the fathers both lose their bitterness and find inner peace at the end...what did I forget?


The music soundtrack is another thing that just felt so similar. Yes it's all eerie and spooky like any other alien film but it really did sound alike.

There is more that I am forgetting but hopefully one other person sees the similarities and chimes in. I had to go and check to see who directed each film just to see if they were by one or two different directors. Anyway, discuss...
