IMDb gives this movie an 8 on the frightening/intense scenes scale and I agree on this. The heavy atmosphere of foreboding, the ghostly apparitions, the whispering voices and visions... classical elements of a horror movie, with the antagonist being the circumstances leading to the depicted events rather that being a person.

Agreed, very creepy stuff, great film too.

Well real biblical angels are creepy too, so even the bible stories can be horror films.

Definitely had horror elements. I appreciate this movie's range quite a bit. A lot going on, & a lot you won't see coming during your 1st viewing
