just a quck question about Jimmy and Chaz

I was just wondering what ever caused them to LOATHE each other i mean they couldnt have just instantly hated each other on their first day, was there ever a reason how come they could stand each other ?
PLEASE help

because they're rivals and both very full of themselves. they're always being compared, and since they're both primadonna's they can't stand the sight of each other.

daddy what's a rack?

There's a deleted scene in the DVD wherein Chazz character as a child was supposed to have been adopted by Darren MacElroy, but that didn't happen because Darren saw little Jimmy and decided to adopt him instead. That also explained the lone wolf tattoo because the lone wolf symbolized about Chazz just going it alone because of Darren's rejection. Both children had been in the same orphanage and Chazz's strong hatred towards Jimmy stemmed from that. Jimmy's own hatred only came in as a response to Chazz's hatred.

But since that was cut from the film, it's not really "canon".

There were no deleted scenes in the DVD through Netflix. I wonder why? But really, they should have left that in. It explains a lot, and makes Chazz's dislike of Jimmy have actual layers and be about something other than competition.

Re the deleted scene where 12 year old Chazz is passed over for Jimmy at the orphanage:

I feel bad for the kid who played young Chazz. Not only is he rejected at the orphanage with brutal coldness, but then his scene is cut from the movie.
I think that kid should be reassured: It wasn't his fault. The scene really didn't belong in the story. It was too contrived, and too unlikely that two figure skating prodigies would both be in the same orphanage at the same time. It's also better that they hate each other because they are each other's nemesis, and are so different.

vivauruguay85 is right by saying:

it's not really "canon".

In fact, it's not just an uncertain background detail, I think the idea was rejected as a story factor in favor of the simple rivalry and personal differences factors. So it should be regarded as something that positively did not happen.

I thought that they clashed so much because their skating styles (as well as personalities) were total opposites. Jimmy's style was very technical and exact while Chaz tended to do alot of improvising.
