Why did he fail the polygraph?

They never answered that. I must've missed something, because I still can't figure it out.

He failed the polygraph because he'd lied to cover up his affair with the first lady. The polygraph wouldn't tell what he lied about, simply that he was lying. Since they were looking for a mole, the assumption by the other agents would have been that was what he was trying to cover up that.

I think having an affair with the First Lady falls under the "Have you violated Secret Service protocol in the last 30 days" category, to which he answered "No".

Well, in a reversely-scandalous way, when Hillary's affair with Vince Foster went astray and she had him assasinated, the secret service were oblivious too..!

Yes, but it's understandable & almost excusable when the First Lady is Kim Basinger. Couldn't quite picture this situation with many First Ladies we could think of.

This movie was, overall, quite fun. Not the tightest story in some details, and not all the dialogue was as riveting as may have been hoped. But it did have its moments. I might have wished they'd given Kim's chracter more to do, more involvement

I like all the actors/actresses in the 4 primary roles and pioked this up mostly because of that cast, Basinger & Douglas particularly. It is quite true that casting CAN make the difference for a movie.

We now have Michael Douglas having played a President of the U.S. AND Secret Service Agent on the Presidential unit. Clint Eastwood should even this out and play a President, though probably not one reentering the dating scene.

Ha ha, tramky, that's funny. I've seen all those movies and The Sentinel is the worst!

I object to how they portrayed the First Lady as a bored housewife.

There have been others. Mark Harmon played the prez in "Chasing Liberty " and an ill-fated Secret Service agent in a few episodes of "The West Wing". Dennis Quaid was the prez is "American Dreamz" and will apparently play an agent in the upcoming "Vantage Point". Dennis Haysber was, of course, David Palmer on "24" and believe he was an agent in "Absolute Power".

I think this answer was correct. But hey,the movie was fun.At least we get an idea of how the Secret Service operates.Or I should say a GLIMPSE of an idea of how they do their job since this is just a movie

Also,I was a Secret Service agent,I would not mind having an affair with the First Lady if she was a pretty and sexy as Kim Basinger.

And definitely,Eva Longaria was hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
