This Movie was just simply bad

And that's all I have to say about that....after all, I wasted 120 minutes (roughly) watching it. Michael Dougals, Keifer Sutherland and other members of the cast are in my mind, very good actors, just a poor choice in a script maybe.

reply

I only watched it cause Keifer Sutherland was in it

reply

I only watched it 'cos Clark Johnson was in it and directed ( loved his work acting and directing in The Wire).
I thought 20 minutes in, that the 'traitor' would be Kim Basinger's first lady. When it wasn't I was quite disappointed as I thought it would be a better ending.

reply

I thought the movie was great until the ending. Was a total let down because up until that point it was extremely well done and well acted and lots of suspense.

I just watched the movie and like you guys i hated the movie, i'm so glad i'm not the only one who thought the movie was a piece of crap.

first off just because you find out someone is having an affair and is the reason why he failed the test DOESN'T mean his innocent.

If anything that is more suspicious AND better to the script i.e he saduced the first lady to get close to the president. However its the cliche of "i say i'm innocent because i really am" i.e THE FUGITIVE (with harrison ford)

second of all wtf is with "Kiefer Sutherland"...for crying out loud michael douglas is a douche and banged your wife...and now your like all buddy like at the cop station (AND forgives his wife in the end...god grow some balls and save some dignity)

I mean if I was "Kiefer Sutherland" and the first wife explains she had an affair and goes "you don't seemed surprised" ....i'd be like "well ma'am, i've known pete for 10 yrs and i trusted him with my life, and he then goes and sleeps with my wife, he destroyed my marriage and now i guess his doing the same to you" (i.e really zing it to the whote)

upon that the traitor (forgot the characters name..."Chaminski"???) anyhoo he sounded like he is such a nice person and reclaiming whats left of his soul...really?? his THAT nice??....what about the people in the helicopter he got killed because he didn't say sh*t....well at least some douche president is ok i suppose (hee haw).

Finally if someone didn't do a polygraph test wouldn't that be the FIRST indicator of the traitor...how convenient it happened near the end of the film

also whats with the baddie in the end...just aim and shoot the president or the first lady...what was the point of grabbing a hostie and risking getting shot in ALL directions...and wtf...michael douglas supposably loves the Kim Basinger...making his emotions compromised...yet he just went "oh well i'll just gamble and take the shot"...and ironically hits the baddie so easily. WTf?? your also injured (lmao)

michael douglas like kis always womanising scum in most of his films and always gets away with it. (kim is the same too, what a whote)

p.s Jill Marin annoyed me alot in the end of the film, so trusting of a possible traitor and when he walks side to side with "Kiefer Sutherland" it looked like a bad cop show

This movie had the look and feel of a cheap TV production despite the impressive cast. I seriously wonder why Eva Longoria was in it - she added nothing to the plot development.

reply

Actually, Michael Douglas *didn't* sleep with Kiefer's wife. Not sure if she slept with anyone else, but it wasn't with Michael.

Glad someone feels the same way. I'm having a run of bad and cliche films. Yesterday 'Taken' with Liam Neeson. Awful. Day before that 'UP' which I hoped would be great, and the first 15 minutes were excellent. After that it went like a pudding. And before that 'Cloverfield'. Same expectations, but boy did that suck.
Otherwise I'm enjoying myself.

Not bad, just incredibly middle of the road in every single regard.

This movie was beyond bad. The plot is both predictable and nonsensical. It's never explained WHY they are trying to kill the president. Neither is clear WHO is trying to kill him. It's randomly mentioned a drug cartel, former KGB agents now working for the government of "Kagistan" (sic), a "mole" and of course the always reliable baddies from Al-Qaeda are mentioned at least once. Rubbish!
Besides the acting is thoroughly bad, Michael Douglas was too old for the role. His "affair" with an incredibly super-hot "first lady" is sooo ridiculous.
Finally: something unforgivable on any thriller: It's very very boring! The action scenes are generic. TV series have better action sequences. I regret having watched this POS.
2/10 and only because Kim and Eva are always easy to the eyes. That's pretty much the only good thing about this completely forgettable crapfest.
