Does anyone think Bourne was a little too bland in this movie?

I love all 3 movies, but the reason Identity is far and away my favorite is because of how brilliant they crafted Jason Bourne. He was confused, emotional, brave, even at times funny and happy. He was just such an excellent character and lead.

He was nearly just as good in Supremacy, but I really feel he comes across as too plain in this film. His character is a little too dry and/or quiet. But I dunno.. what do you guys think?

Change of director I guess. Identity was character driven, Supremacy and Ultimatum are action movies.

Will Graham: I don't find you that interesting.
Hannibal Lecter: You will.

Its also a bit of character development (or rather, regression, from an in-universe point of view).

As Bourne recovers more and more of his past memories and becomes increasingly embroiled in the shadow world of his past, he becomes more and more like his pre-amnesia self, the assassin trained by Treadstone. Hence he becomes more and more cold and machine-like as the movies progress.

I think it fits in perfectly with this movie.

He has been on the run with amnesia for the best part of 2/3 years.... that is eventually going to take its toll somebody (unlike other movies where the hero gets beaten down, then 10 minutes later is fully recovered without a scratch) and Damon plays it perfectly.

Also remember Damons wife had just had their first kid, and as a result he had put on a bit of weight and was looking drained, and rather than try hide this, Greengrass and Damon used it with the character that he is not invincible, and being on the run does catch up with you physically

what a poor actor! Matt Damon makes 3 previous movies awesome. Jeremy Renner can't play as well as he does.
