Has anyone else noticed +/or bothered by the change w/ Marie's brother?

In the Bourne Identity her half brother seems older then her and has two childern he seems to care for. Then in the Ultimatum we see Jason tell what appears to be a much younger man that looks like a student who doesn't appear to have any children, that his sister, Marie was killed.

I think these movies are excellent, I really love the first three and I'm not going to get into the thingsI thought could've been done better about the Bourne Legacy, although still a good movie, but I just wondered if I'm the only one that's bothered by the almost complete change in the character of her brother.

Eamon from Identity was not Marie Kreutz' brother but a friend. Martin Kreutz in Ultimatum was her brother.

Will Graham: I don't find you that interesting.
Hannibal Lecter: You will.

Eamon is not her brother!

It is very easy to see why people would think that as there is a scene that does not really go anywhere when Conklin asks about Family "there is a grandmother and a half-brother", Conklin asks for taps on them, and then that is the end of that except for a comment "how are we doing with tabs on Granny?" just before the scene with the farm.

But Eamon is just a freind of Marie and Martin in Ultimatum is her brother.

It's a funny kind of scene IMO, because there's no further reference to it in the movie. Perhaps it's designed to echo the "Moscow confession" in the previous film.

He goes to the trouble of visiting Martin to deliver the bad news...which is decent of the reborn Bourne... but then just walks straight out on him.

Kind of jarring for Martin I should think.

There was a bunch of short little pointless scenes like that in the movie. Felt like the script went through a bunch of rewrites and nobody cleaned it up when it was done.
