I wish they would continue Jason Bourne character with another actor

Why can't they do that just like the bond films? If bond fans can accept a new actor then why not bourne fans?

My guess is this. The Bond series is a legacy of sorts. The books are over 60 years old, whereas the Bourne books are only slightly over 30. The Bond films started in the 60's and have been made over the course of of 40+ years because of the number of Bond novels. Bourne was given 3 novels by Robert Ludlum and were made over 5 years. Because there was so much canon for the Bond films, it took them years and no one single actor could play him for that long. Since we are only 12 years past when Identity was made, it is possible for Matt Damon to continue the character. Changing actors with Bond was necessary, but is not necessary for Bourne.

I'm not British and he's certainly not intelligent.
