Half the movie is people barking orders

I enjoyed the flick but half the movie is the intelligence personnel barking orders to each other. "Get eyes on him". "Cross-reference that name with things in the apartment". "Give me all cameras on that block". "Put a one-block perimeter around the building". And so on. And so on. And so on.

Yeah. That's because the movie sucks sh!t. All these ignorant fanboys follow this blindly no matter what they do. If they would grow a brain and acquire the ability to think for themselves they would quickly realize how far fetched and soap opera ridden this pile of dung truly is. In Mission Impossible they know it's fantasy and do not try to pull it off as anything but. This trash takes itself overly serious and in turn causes it to fail miserably. The idea is good but the execution, the direction, is sh!t. Pathetic this is what these kiddies worship. Shows clearly how brainless they are.

Or it could be the fact that this movie is going for a much different tone than Mission Impossible. The Bourne Ultimatum is going for a more grounded realistic take on the spy genre. Mission Impossible is going for more over the top and cheese in a good way. That is like the comparison of the Dark Knight against the Avengers. Faulting The Dark Knight simply because it is a more serious film than the Avengers is rather ignorant in my eyes.

Also calling people who like this film ignorant also shows how juvenile you are. Heaven forbid other people like something you do not. Just because people enjoy something you do not does not make them ignorant. Check the score for this film on Rottentomatoes, and metacritic. Both of those sites have professional critics on them. Critically this movie has great reception among professional critics. Convince me your view is more credible than a film critics.

Since you said anyone who likes this film is ignorant you should have no problem doing so.

The CIA is so inept in these movies.

Thank you tectash. The MI series, while entertaining at times, doesn't portray the level of realism that the Bourne series, for the most part, portrays when it comes to the intelligence community. A lot of the Mission Impossible world is silly in that regard.

Everyone has their preference, but for me personally, I am a total Bourne fan.

I agree and just brought down my rating to a 6 for this movie. I don't think it really shines, and as you say, large parts are just this. Plus almost everything the CIA fella says is stuff the underlings are already doing.
