Why would Bourne reveal to this guy that he is in his office?

This seems completely ridiculous to me.

It seems like he wanted them to chase him. He just needed his name on tape and then he could hang up the phone and get the hell out of there.

the same thing happened in the second film, where Bourne stays in the hotel room for too long, although he knows the cops are trying to get him.

of course these make sense for the movie to have the chase scenes, but they ridiculous in the sense that a top level high IQ secret agent would not be so risk seeking, willing to risk his life so easily...

anyways...

To rattle him and seize the psychological high ground, by showing him that he's been outsmarted.

"There is no more human race. There is only.. the Master race!"

I love cocky Bourne.

The idiot formerly known as Heez.

I totally agree, this irked me too.

You're right - while it's not very wise, it's an analogy to the Nicky and Landy scene when he outsmarts them. As in, he sees what people are doing and where they are, even though they don't. I guess this was just to add another smart Bourne moment to the movie.
