So am right in thinking Daniels is the source , what would he get out of telling the reporter about blackbriar? If he was "supervising officer" for treadstone/blackbriar

Basically Daniels knows his turn is coming and basically wants to get the story out in hope that will clear his conscience (that is probably also why he got Nicky assigned to him as kind of protection for her as they are the final two (not including Bourne and Hirsch) Treadstone operatives.
