In one of the scenes while fleeing the police, Jason grabs two shirts and runs towards a low wall with edged and broken glass all across it. The police officers behind him can't scale it so they move on. Why on Earth would someone put a straight line of heavy glass on their wall on a roof top?

I come from Pakistan and there we do the same. We cement in some broken bottle glass on the wall so that no one would climb our walls. As security is not so good and often robbers climb in houses through low height walls,that's why.
