Why did Bourne tell bad guy he was at his office?

First off, let me just say it was a sick burn by Bourne in that conversation and I LOL every time I see it. But from a tactical POV why did he do it? He got dozens of cops on him in doing so. Made no sense.

It threw him off his game. He thought he was the hunter and Bourne was the fox, only to find out the hunter was being pursued by the game.

In addition, as soon as Bourne hung up the phone, he knew *exactly* where the guy would be heading, which also gives him a bonus.

I guess that makes sense.

Yes this made me wonder why he did it, maybe after he had opened the safe and about to leave would of made a little more sense but to tell him he was in the office before even opening the safe made no sense at all!
