I had never seen Night of the Creeps until a couple of days ago. It was pretty decent, especially after a hard night of binging. I can't believe how Slither copies the whole concept of Night of the Creeps. The Slugs that crawl into people's mouth for them to become zombies is exactly the same. There's even animal zombies in both films too. Slither was good though, theres better gory fun in it.

shareWell, the thing about Night of the Creeps was that it wasn't SUPOSED to be gory. Gory =/= Horror. I think Creeps was funnier, but I was surprised how much I actually liked Slither. I'm really critical when it comes to modern horror, and consider myself a real old schooler, but Slither was awesome!

shareNight of the creeps IS my favourite movie so when I saw the trailer for Slither before V for Vendetta I was mortified that someone had plagerised its plot. I went to to see Slither and loved it. Both excellent movies in the own right. Night Of the Creeps is the best though.

I think plagiarism is far too serious a charge to level. They are very similar (although Night of the Creeps has an excellent extra layer in the cop's vigilante past) but you could throw in The Hidden as another alien possession movie that involves oral possession. Hell, Alien did the same thing in a way.
The important thing is both movies are GOOD. I love Night of the Creeps and I introduced a couple Slither fans to it. They may not have been swayed otherwise.
As long as we're on the subject: "Scleamin' rike banshees"! LOVE that line!

Same here, I love Night of the Creeps and when i heard about this movie back when it was getting made i got really pissed because its obvious they got it from NOTC it is way to similar.
But i finally watched this and enjoyed it but I'm pretty sure that if i was the rights owner to NOTC i would want some royalties payment for this film.
Slither is similar to NoTC, which is a great flick, but what 90% of people seem to not be aware of is that NoTC is by no means original with its concept. It's a new take on the movie "Shivers," directed by David Cronenberg--even Cynthia's last name is Cronenberg in NoTC.
If Slither should give royalties to NoTC then NoTC should have given even more to Shivers. ;) I like all three movies though.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE NOTC and Slither. The Thaw is another one in that genre. I wish there were more! I'm so tired of torture porn and bad remakes. :(

Night of the Creeps was Bae!!!! I saw it back in the 80's when it came out so it's still my favorite.
Slither was good but overly icky!!!
