Another Canadian Classic

What's with the Canadian film industry? Why do they make such marginal movies? And what's with Amanda Walsh? Looking at her choice of film roles, I'm not sure why she doesn't jump to a higher level of respectability and just do hard core porn. And what drunken poker bet did David Boreanaz lose to get hauled into this piece of lameness? So nice that he went back to his Married with Children dumb manwhore roots. This is what you left Angel to pursue?

I want the hour and a half of my life back please.

When I first watched this movie I was really disappointed. I had only watched it for David anyway. But when I watched it again I realized that even though the story is kind of silly, this movie is a bit of gem. Caroline is amazing in this movie, I was really impressed. And I have to agree that this movie really did show the protrayal of real life. Sometimes things get messy, maybe not quite like this, but we all face really akward and weird times. This is an outlandish but funny movie.
Plus, I would love to seduce my Literature teacher. Gave me some pointers. *wink*

Actually, there's an answer to the question of why the Canadian Film industry makes such marginal films. Canada has a trade agreement with the United States to be a market for American films. Canada is considered part of America's domestic market. This trade agreement goes back to the 1930's, when Canada's politicians were more British than Canadian; to them the notion of trading away a piece of Canadian culture wasn't that important because they didn't think Canadian culture was a real thing. Every year since then the U.S. has sent people up to lobby for that trade agreement to continue. Canada never developed a feature film industry, Canadians just go down to work in Hollywood, and Canadian viewers have been trained to desire American product.
