Half 'POV'..half 'Movie'

Did anybody besides me NOT like this transition?

it doesn't help I only saw [REC] (an ALL 'POV' movie) a few days ago...the transition had me saying "what?!?!?"

Since opening scene wasn't POV, I didn't find the transition too jarring. Though I was surprised, from reading the movie's description I just assumed the whole thing was going to be documentary style.

yeah there were alot of places avtually that didnt have to pov which mimicked a more filmic look

That transition is one of the major complaints that gets posted about this movie. It didn't bother me for the same reason one of the above posters said--they have non-POV segments that open the movie and they shift back and forth numerous times throughout.

our only salVation is in chAos and disoRder

The "non-documentary" segments of the movie open with overhead shots, so they are clearly not shot by the student crew. I don't understand anyone's confusion.

In a sense, the entire "documentary" portion of the movie is POV, since we're seeing it through the cameras of Doug and Todd, who are also active characters.

Or am I missing someone's point somewhere?
