Why not just band together
and kill Leslie if you know what he's going to do? Oh, that's right. No movie.

I was thinking that they didn't decide to fight Les until after he'd walked off into the woods around the house. Then, they had the problem of avoiding him until they were ready, and trying to defend the teens/young adults in the house.
Let a little insanity into your life.

^Exactly it's poking fun at the Horror genre and explaining it at the same time.
Taylor: Well why wouldn't they just break open a window and climb out?
Leslie: you know you would think they would but nah never happens if they do attempt it it's on the top floor and the usually fall off the roof and die.
As was said earlier in the movie, sure, they could team up. But they better hope there's someone in the group slower than them when it comes time to run. Something will ALWAYS happen to split the group up. Slasher movie cliche, but that's kind of the point.
Prof. Farnsworth: Oh. A lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!
I think a better ending would have been an abrupt one that the audience wouldn't expect because they spelled it out in the movie already.
Basically, when they get involve and are all in the house, it would have been interesting if Taylor just told everyone to run in a straight line away from the house until the sun comes up.
Eugene already told her not to fight back, don't try and be a hero, just run away. So that would have been an interesting way to end the movie. When sh*t starts to hit the fan, you already figure the characters are all going to be stupid and try to "beat him at his own game" using their knowledge of what comes next, and that it's going to basically devolve into the slasher film it parodies. So it would have been really creative to just end it with them running away, no one's a hero, most of the intended victims survive because they do what Eugene told Taylor to do.
