via press release: Late-Night Results for Week 8:

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has dominated the late-night week of Dec. 8-12, beating ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” on five of five nights in both adults 18-49 and total viewers and delivering bigger audiences than both rival shows in every key ratings category – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

Fallon’s 1.03 rating in 18-49 for the week generated an +81% advantage over Kimmel (0.57) and an +87% margin over Letterman (0.55). Note that “Kimmel” was in rebroadcast on Friday.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” matched the 18-49 rating of Letterman (0.55 each), despite starting an hour later. Meyers topped Letterman for the week in men 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34.

In the 12:35 a.m. ET hour, Meyers outscored CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” in every key ratings measure and also topped ABC’s “Nightline” in their head-to-head half-hour from 12:30-1 a.m. in all key categories.

Ratings reflect “live plus same day” data from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of “live plus seven day” figures except for the two most recent weeks, which are “live plus same day.”

Seth's rating have deteriorating for months, especially since near the end of the summer. In August Seth was at 1.48 million, Craig at 1.32 million. Craig's low point was in March and April, when was at 1.24 million

For Seth, who got 3.1 million viewers in his 1st week, is for him got to be very troubling.

For James Corden, the bar is not that high to surpass Seth if he can make it work. No wonder Seth had him on his show this week and was kissing his English biscuit arse.

reply

The only reason Meyers ever gets more viewers than Craig is because he has an average of almost a million more viewers as a lead-in than Craig does.

reply

And another thing; the only other real advantage Seth has on Craig is his lead on the 18-49 adult demo. Seth's numbers are 70% higher than Craig. And now that has shrunk in recent weeks too.

reply

American TV viewers are idiots. What Craig does goes over the heads of 90 percent of them, He will be missed.

reply

Meyers is a jabroni compared to Craig, but I have to say I like his new show & tone much more than the awful Weekend Update. It was the Tina Fey approach to comedy where you say something unfunny then give a pause until people laugh.
