Worst/Most Awkward/Most Uncomfortable Guest?

I just happened across Kristen Stewart's interview and was wondering if you knew of any other terribly awkward guests.
It was great to see Craig take the reigns and ride the awkward out.

I remember when Belinda Carlisle appeared on the show. It was like she didn't even want to be there.

Sarah Shahi was on, and clearly under the influence of something. It was a difficult interview.

Same with Paula Abdul.

Kristin Scott Thomas, Kate Mara, all Paris Hilton appearances...

Debbie

Craig Ferguson, "I know it's lame...it's my job!"

reply

Great segment with Kate Mara being flirty and all. Took a sip from his cup and spit it back in. He immediately then drink from the cup. It's on youtube.

Can we make this quick? I need to give a banana to Annie's Boobs.

reply

I thought Kate Mara looked like she was having a good time, I didn't see anything awkward. Paris Hilton was boring, "yeah" was her damn answer to everything. Ellen Page is probably my least favorite, that I recall.

It was interesting to see people on there for the first time. A couple are totally baffled by the fact that the first thing he does is tear up the talking points and then just talk about whatever he wants to talk about anyways. It is funny to see how people react to this differently. I think Ellen Page didn't understand what was going on.

Some are baffled while a great many love the fact that his show is basically a break because Ferguson will barely talk about whatever they are there to shill because he hates that. Some even play along giving a 3.5 second summary of their project and then start talking about something else.

(Harrison Ford was on once where they talked about the show for 2 seconds before they talked for 2 full segments and when he asked what he was working on just just said, we 'I thought we already covered that'.) More than any other show you actually get to see the guests enjoy themselves and see them actually genuinely laugh. It was even funnier watching him with Robin Williams. You got a sense that Williams was aware that Craig had self control issues too so he didn't go quite so far off the deep end (because nobody was going to hold them back) but they still made each other laugh hysterically most of the time.

That's actually just Sarah Shahi.

There was an author who was simply a miserable person and he did not want to be there. It was a couple of yrs ago. Not John Irving, someone more miserable! But I am blanking out...anyone know who I'm talking about?

Gina Carano.

I got news for 'em. There's gonna be hell to pay. 'Cause I ain't Daddy's little boy no more.

reply

Ellen Page and Kristen Stewart are the two I can think of for most boring interview.

Awkward, definitely Kate Mars. IT was funny, but man was she flirty.

I felt bad for Gina Carano.
She's a tough chick, but when it comes to social interaction she seems to be shy as hell.

reply

Yeah, I felt for her.

reply

She's like a soft boiled egg.

This one was cringeworthy by the host AND the guest.

Craig's introduction and interviews with....(quote) "My friend, Paris Hilton!!!!"

reply

I wonder if Paris stopped coming on the show because she found out he was making fun of her, of if Craig just told them not to invite her anymore..

reply

Craig has complained about Kardashians so probably he didn't want her there anymore.

reply

I can't believe there are 13 replies and no one said Matt LeBlanc.

reply

God yeah. I'm sure Craig said "how you doin'?" (by total accident) and Le Blanc went in a bit of a huff

reply

Throw in the girl from Twilight. She had the personality of a maple tree

Kevin Smith seemed to be awkward in one of his interviews. It is not like him to be an awkward speaker. I believe Craig's unusual interview technique through him off quite a bit. He was clearly expecting the usual talk show interview. It was strongly disappointing.
