Geoff Petersen/son vs. the puppets and skits?...

I could never make up my mind whether I liked (or loved) or disliked (hated) Geoff. I always kept going from one to the other. However, given the choice between Geoff and the puppets and sketches... I'd take the latter (puppets and skits) over the former (Geoff) every-time. I wish he had stayed with things the way they were before Geoff came along. How about you?

I don't know what's a sig. line? Can't think of one! Can you tell me what one is?

He got bored of the puppets. The 2000th episode where they interviewed the guests was their final hurrah. I don't think they were that important to the show. The sketches and monologue were though so it's a shamd they got sidelined. Geoff made up at least in part for the loss of these for me at least. I don't see him as the cause.

I watched the show for the interaction between Geoff & Craig. I thought the show the other night when Geoff wasn't there just wasn't the same or as good. Even with Secretariat's likage of all things boobs.

Craig acted lost that night Josh/Geoff wasn't there, but it wasn't like that at all back before Geoff first showed up. Craig was fully connecting with the audience and the guests then. I thought he was better then, especially because he would do a lot of different things. I liked Geoff and Secretariat, but the show wasn't as entertaining when they were doing the same things every night.

I didn't really like the puppets very much. My favorite openings are the ones where he questions audience members standing on stage.

Some of the crazy dance bits and skits were fun and it is sad he stopped. You can tell though they he gets bored easily and would change what he does every few weeks. You could really tell he was bored with the whole thing when he stopped even doing that.

i didn't mind whatever they did as long as i kept wanting to watch more. and i watched, like, 90% of the recent episodes on yt because of how funny they were. i'm thankful i wasn't watching all the episodes live when they were coming or else i would've been pissed at that last episode but i realize now that it couldn't have ended better with craig at the helms. i really need more geoff peterson/josh robert thompson and craig ferguson in my life.

"Larry King Geoff" was simply amazing.

Hard to beat the debut of Sid the rabbit, though. Esp starting at 1:31... "We bunny rabbits have got lovely little fluffy bottoms... we do... that's why people often mistake us for Danny De Vito.... Did you know, Danny De Vito has got a lovely, fluffy little bottom."

From there, it only gets better...

How DOES one top that!!!

I thought parents complained about what the puppets said when their young children saw them in reruns on the internet (see above) so the puppets were eventually stopped?

reply

Some parents may have complained, but the puppets stopped simply because Craig was done with them.

reply

who would let their kids watch craig's show? jesus. and he probably just got tired of them. speaking in a high voice can hurt your voice a bunch too.

reply

I didn't really care for the puppets (Sid aside) and the sketches were very hit and miss.

The monologue was the biggest loss for me. While it was funny to see Craig just ramble in the latter stages and have daft humour for 10 minutes it was a loss to the show.

I don't blame Geoff for it though. Craig lost interest in doing it.

As far as Geoff goes, I liked him. I think it reinvigorated the show hugely. Craig might well have chucked it two years back otherwise.
