So many people returning makes it feel like these episodes are just repeats.

reply

Nope, all new episodes with friends of the show :)

reply

Absolutely.

reply

Looks like the last show airs on Dec 19 but will not be taped that day (the day before, perhaps).

reply

Leno seems like an odd choice.

Then again, maybe it's because Leno just left a long running Late Night Show. Maybe he feels a kinship???

reply

Leno surprised me to an extent but then I asked who else?

Duchovny might have been an option. Betty White other than that...

He maybe wants to speak to Jay to round up the whole legacy that will be left. There's hardly anyone he could have had on better to discuss that (with the exception of Dave and Jay might be easier to talk to)

reply

Well, Craig definitely kept his word to not go out big. I don't care for him having Leno as the last guest. I thought the last guest might even be James Corden.

reply

Is he going to have an audience for the last show? I wouldn't be surprised if he did it solo, ala the interview with Stephen Fry

reply

Yes, there will be an audience for the last show.

reply

I know everyone keeps telling me he didn't want to be Dave's replacement and that Dave had nothing to do with picking his replacement but it has to give Craig a little smile to have Jay as the last guest. Defintley not Mr Letterman's favorite.

reply

Exactly what I thought. Wish he would have no guest on the last episodes (ok, maybe some puppets)..and just talk to us. I don't care about anything Jay Leno has to say. So between the moustache and Leno, I'm already going through first stage of grief ;)

reply

Jim Parsons as the penultimate guest?? Lame.

I got news for em. Theres gonna be hell to pay. Cause I aint Daddys little boy no more

reply

I don't think Craig will be doing his 'Leno as a buzzing fly' impression.

reply

Fr 11/21: Cillian Murphy, Jennifer Carpenter, Metallica

This one looks promising!

1st week of December has an awesome lineup. Kristen Bell is gonna get one last visit! I think she should be on the last week too. they have awesome chemistry.

Jay Leno's not a bad choice for the last one.

reply

Tom Cruise should show up on the last show, just to use the stool.

reply

has he ever been a guest?

it almost sounds like the kimmel/Matt Damon rivalry they have going on

reply

I really, really, REALLY would love to see that happen...but I think Cruise is too full of himself to be able to laugh like that.

I believe you're right.  👀

Also, in that vein, we haven't seen Paul McCartney/Angela Landsbury, either

I'm guessing 'new', ie, they're not re-runs.

reply

Last one should be witch James McAvoy and Ewan McGregor without intro and emails, about 30 minutes of pure awsomnes :)

reply

it would be great to see them both oned more time, but Leno's the last guest...

reply

Do you think Alfredo Sauce and the Shy Fellas will come out from behind the curtain?   👀

reply

No, but what we will see are the people inside the Secretariat costume.

Josh should be poking his head out from behind the curtain, too.

At one time, I wanted to see those people who made the show great in the past, see what they're up to, what they're doing: Phil McGrade, Bridger, the original Palace Guard, Bondage Guy, Bradley.....

Guess that's not going to happen.

reply

>>No, but what we will see are the people inside the Secretariat costume.

Did they ever show the guys in Secretariat? I watched the show, but maybe i missed something. I did see the guy who does Jeff's voice come out.

reply

I thought a few days before the last show Craig said that we would see them, but it didn't happen. They took the head of the costume off, and Bob Newheart was inside the Secretariat costume for that one segment only. Then they paid Homage to the twist final scenes of Newheart (Bob wakes up next to his previous TV wife) and St. Elsewhere (It takes place inside a snow globe).
