Since Craig's finished and James Corden won't be taking over as premanent host unitl late March, the rest of the time we'll have guest hosts. Here's a link to whom we'll see, at least through March 6th. http://www.cbs.com/shows/late-late-show-guest-hosts/schedule/
I'm really looking forward to some of them like Jim Gaffigan and Kunal Nayyar, and I wonder if they'll use all five hosts of the talk at once or have each one of them host one night. Someone who's exclusively a musician like John Mayer is an odd choice. Those are my thoughts. What are yours?
are the ladies from the Talk just going to do their current show, only played at night? Are they going to attempt to do a late nite show, or just what they're doing now? Are they going to use the same set as Craig's, or just film an extra hour on their own set?
For that matter, are any of the hosts going to use Craig's set, or are they going to set up a temporary one for them?
I've wondered about that myself. It probably won't be much different from their daytime show. The gossip and lifestyle segments common to daytime TV wouldn't work long term in late night television, but one week of it won't do any damage.
_______ The sun is shining... but the ice is slippery.
My thought are can you just C&P the whole list here or make the link clicky? I can't do it on this thing.
I guess I'm interested in John Mayer hosting, I don't even know that much about the guy except he apparently kisses and tells. I wonder if a guest host will be so good that CBS will kick this new guy to the curb in favor of them!
Here's both for you -- I don't know what their plan is for March 9-13 and 16-20 (will be March Madness, so likely repeats or pre-empted completely), but Corden doesn't start until March 23:
Oh thank you! Some of those will be meh for me personally, but some like Drew Carey and WAYNE BRADY will be very interesting!!! I wish Wayne was doing all of them!
Tried to watch Drew Carey but had to turn the tv off. He has a sore throat, is mumbling, and talking too fast so I can't understand him. Monologue was slap/dash. The set looks dismal and bare. The two red chairs have been replaced with a brown couch with a red throw pillow on it. They kept the desk. The sidekick is from "Price" I guess. Not funny and I don't like him standing where Geoff used to be and I think that's his podium. Thank goodness for Eric Idle.
I know, I looked for the barn where Secretariat used to be and the fireplace where the rhino used to be. All gone. Drew us obviously not used to interviews, he stops and starts and cuts off and talks over but you can tell it's not from arrogance, it's just inexperience. I've always like Drew Carey but it's just sad.
Is it possible Craig will appear as a guest to be interviewed? That would be cool. He should be one of Drew's guests that final week.
I think Drew did fine. His monologue was longer when they swapped shows. If it was for real I'm sure Drew would do more. I wish he was the replacement.
I assume all the guest hosts won't exactly go into full throttle.
Are the women from The Talk doing the show as a group or are they each taking a night? I would have loved to see Aisha Tyler do a full week on her own, since she was on my short-list for permanent replacements for Craig.
It's strange that some people are only doing one or two shows. Especially since one of them is currently Regis (who may eventually get the full week which is probably why it's TBD), but Tom Lennon is one that I thought would garner a full week of shows.
My impression from the press releases is The Talk would be the whole group, just at night. Which... if you wanted to send EVERY LAST PERSON fleeing from your network, that'll do it. Aisha would be an excellent guest host on her own!
ETA: I just checked Interbridge's guest list, and it does appear to be the entire group:
Mo 1/12: Ozzy Osbourne, Retta, Linda Perry, guest co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood & Aisha Tyler Tu 1/13: Seth Green, Melissa Fumero, Linda Perry, guest co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood & Aisha Tyler We 1/14: Nick Cannon, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Linda Perry, guest co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood & Aisha Tyler Th 1/15: Kristin Chenoweth, Eric Christian Olsen, Linda Perry, guest co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood & Aisha Tyler Fr 1/16: George Lopez, Gavin DeGraw, Linda Perry, guest co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood & Aisha Tyler
I'm assuming those shows will be/have been taped on The Talk's set, with The Talk's audience, since they're not listed on 1iota's site. (And let's face it -- TLLS studio is way too small to have all of those hens AND guests on one stage.)
Meanwhile, Drew will simultaneously be taping his second week of shows next week. Plan was for him to book-end the guest hosting gigs, so I suppose they won't air until March.
So lets see the talk gest host week seems to not at lest to my dvr to be the late late show as it is not set to record at all this week might have to stay up and look at it one night
I know my spelling sucks so get over it I'm a Buffyist, ask me how! _((B))_
I was confused for the longest time on this first Talk episode-I honestly thought they were just re-airing the actual episode of The Talk from earlier in the day. It's so much like that but then they'd show that high-speed tail lights on the freeway thing and I'd just completely out. Now I get what they're doing, even though I don't get why they're doing it that way, lol.
Only turned the show on once since Craig left. The View was on. Turned it right off. Used to watch the Talk during the day once, but their topics were so much fluff. I stopped watching when their hot topic was "would you let someone else launder your underwear". Not kidding.
Jim Gaffigan is on this week. I might try watching. Might.
Wonder how long Craig, after 10 years of the same routine, got up, ready to head for work? Do you think he misses it?
Got a ticket to catch him in Windsor, Ontario in March. Will get my Craig fix then. Hopefully. (I'm job hunting)
We are faithful Late, Late Show viewers. We loved Craig, and miss him. I hated the week that The View was on. My husband and I watched a full episode and couldn't stand the entire thing. Had to watch elsewhere the other 4 nights. Drew was awful as a host, but Jim Gaffigan was fantastic. Jim is natural as a host, as well as just plain funny. Hope the rest of the guest hosts are as good.
Haha, I actually recognized his face but not by name...IMO the funniest one in a while! I don't mind watching Eric Andre spin in a chair for a few minutes, and the i terview with that football player was pretty good. I like how at the end when Pally calms them two Kanyes going at it and the guy says "I didn't catch that last bit but Beyoncé had the best video of all time!" Witty, waaaaay wittier than anything that came out of that one dude's mouth last night during Conan's hilarious video game playing segment with two players from the upcoming Super Bowl. (Forgive me, I know not most of the player's names)
Agreed! I was disappointed with Jim Gaffigan. I thought for sure he'd be the best but he ruined his hostings by bringing his wife and kids along. Especially his kids.
I don't know what's a sig. line? Can't think of one! Can you tell me what one is?
