Anyone Going To Watch The New Guy

on Monday?

reply

I suppose I'll watch out of curiosity but I don't intend on watching beyond that.

reply

Yeah, I'll look it up.

Do we know who is on?

I guess I'd only ever watch it for a specific guest after that.

Tom Hanks and Mila Kunis are scheduled for the first show.

did Craig ever have Hanks on?

Only a couple are listed but I don't know how complete the information is.

Episode #8.333 (2012)
Episode #8.349 (2012)

The only places that he has more than a few appearances are with Leno and Letterman.

The episode I remember Hanks being on had him riding Secretariat.

He was actually very good. He'd clearly looked a couple of the shows up (even if he doesn't regularly see it) to familiarise himself with it all. Cracked a couple of in jokes.

It did seem a wee bit "Hollywood" and false at times but still far better than those who came on with no idea and missed the point of it all.

Well I finally watched him.

I quite like Aubrey Plaza so got a hold of that episode.

It's very generic and I don't think (was only the 5th show or so all the same) that any of his personality actually came through (dunno if that's a good or a bad thing all the same.

Not really a fan of the Regie Watts character. Playing youtube clips is something I always feel just marks a TV shout out as struggling.

Everyone with an involvement in social media in their lives will have seen it by that point. It's like a parent forwarding a viral email months after it happened.

There's good and bad things about the guests all being out at the same time.

It's certainly not Craig. I'm only every going to watch it if there's a guest on I'm really keen on. I doubt I'm missing my "in" to American culture and politics with Corden the way I relied on it from Craig.

If only there were a website where you could find the answer. 

Just plan to watch the first show. I only watched Craig because he was unique. I'm not expecting much from new guy. Am I being shallow that I don't think I want to look at Corden's face every night? I think I am but I wish him well and I'm just waiting for Colbert who is unique in his own way and may be able to do something with the tired old late night format.

I pretty much watch the first episodes of all talk shows. I like to see awkward trainwrecks cause they're pretty rare in this modern television age, and I like to gauge how things have improved after a year's time.

Liked that he acknowledged Craig Ferguson, kept it down to earth. Lots of elements from other UK shows audience shaking hands with the guests a la TFI Friday, Norton of course with the guests coming on at once.. the dilemma of where each one sits was interesting, Hanks should have been in the lead guest seat but he graciously gave it up for Mila which meant she got most of the questions.
