Sitcom
Various sources say Craig has been cast in a sitcom on WABC. Don't know if it's been picked up yet. He plays an agoraphobic man who hasn't ventured out of his apartment for 20 years and meets a woman he thinks is his soulmate.

Let's hope it lasts.
shareLet's hope they actually pick up this show.
shareI suppose I should go back and read the article, but if his character is afraid to leave his house, how does he meet the "soul mate"?
I really hope the show gets to be on the schedule. I'd love to see him with a regular gig. (And please don't limit yourself to TV! There's a whole lotta movies made out there...maybe you could get one of those gigs, too?)
Best of luck to him!
Maybe they'll have a few episodes showing him in some kind of therapy and ready for his first steps outside his apartment. They can have a theme song (maybe Craig can write one) explaining the premise of the show. I don't know how he's supposed to go to therapy if he doesn't leave his house but all will explained I guess if the show is picked up. Anything is better than a game show. I'll be watching.
shareCould be a good premise, it'll surely have Craig doing a monologue to himself and maybe be a reflection on the emptiness, meaningless of life.
shareI think they'll be going for laughs, not the meaning of life😄
shareI don't expect it to be depressing for the sake of it or to be realist as that's the kind of thing Craig and America refrain from but a meaningful look at why someone is agoraphobic could make it interesting rather than it just being another whacky premise.
shareIt's a sitcom. I think whacky will be what they're aiming for. If it's a half hour show they'll have a whole 20 minutes of show and 10 of commercials. Not much room there for meaningful discussions. Then again, after they write the pilot the whole premise might be changed. Wish Craig had a talk show instead.
shareI think we should have fun with this!
Think up characters or premises that could be on this show.
To start, how about the loveable doorman (it's going to be in NY, right?) who won't let Craig's character back in the building, because in the 15 years he's been on the job, he's never seen "Craig" before?
I like that. How about a sort of time-travel bit where he hasn't seen the neighborhood in years and there are new stores and buildings that he had no idea were there. Hilarity then ensues when he gets lost.
shareHilarity then ensues when he gets lost.
Either that, or a panic attack....
How about the wacky neighbor across the hall that keeps dropping by.....? (to do what?)
haha. nice. they may be looking for writers! ;)
shareHow's about the one of the reasons he is afraid to leave the house is that there's an old fu*&%^ng bitch who lives across the hall. He can't bear to talk to and she's called Miriam.
shareThat dam n Miriam just won't leave him alone, will she? ;)
And, you know, a guy like that has to have a skeleton or two in the closet, wouldn't you think?

shareI couldn't see anything because Chicago Trib. wants me to subscribe or register. I can't get through. Could you briefly tell me if there's news about the pilot in the article?
Thanks cajundancr
The relevant mention in the interview:
"Q: I saw you shot a pilot for ABC. Is there news yet on whether that's being picked up?
A: It's not going to go. I kind of knew the writing was on the wall when the network picked up "The Muppets," and I thought, well, my dark single-camera comedy about an agoraphobic in New York is probably not going to play on the same network as the Muppets."

Thanks. I liked the premise of the show. Too bad. Hope Craig comes up with something else.
