Nijinsky, Stravinski, Ravel, Matisse, Picasso?

This documentary focuses way too much on the second part of Ballets Russes, starting from Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo. It vaguely evokes the first Ballets Russes, led by Diaghilev, with all the names above. I found it therefore a little disappointing.

I wished they would have dived into the supporting roles a bit more. I loved that Dali background of the swan with the open womb.

The movie was like the evolution of set design and costume design over time. They did touch on the difference of music used over time.

Maybe that could be a different movie?

I wouldn't mind knowing more about

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

Might have had something to do with all the first-hand accounts as presented by the original dancers. The Diaghilev round of dancers were long dead by the time this was filmed.

My ballet mistress danced with Ballet Russe. She wasn't a prima, but very interesting all the same.
