You can tell who the real sickos are!

I think this film is an expose into the minds of a lot of these comedians.

Think about it. For some of the disgusting filth that comes out of the mouths of some comedians, it just really shows what their values, thought-patterns and what they consider going too far or not far enough.

For some to add such vile detail, shows what warped and troubled minds some of these people have, if they think that such infantile humor is funny.

I prefer the comedy of someone like Jerry Seinfeld. Apparently, Seinfeld doesn't work "blue" in his comedy act. He will push the line (such as in his "Seinfeld" show, an episode about being "master of your domain"). However, it is subtle, and he doesn't use swear words to generate laughs.

When comedians swear in their act, I feel that it is a crutch because they don't have confidence in their joke-telling ability. The really funny comedians can keep it clean and tell really funny jokes, because people can relate or it is a funny situation they are describing. Something can be funny without swearing involved. Absurd situations, slapstick, pure wit, all these entertain me and make me laugh more than a blue joke ever will.

Agree with your basic premise, but not with your calling all of the comedians who appeared in the film “sickos.” Wasn’t the point of The Aristocrats to gather as many comedians as possible, regardless of talent or notoriety, and get each of them to tell a joke that has been around since vaudeville, but rarely, if ever, had been performed in public?

The challenge then for each comedian (“sicko” or not) was to come up with a different take on the joke, whether through additional lewd comments, or offbeat timing, or unusual accents, or body language or just a painfully long and disgusting, though often hysterically funny, variation on the original, just to make sure that there would be enough footage for a feature film.

I was disappointed with The Aristocrats after having heard and read so much about it before its theatrical release. I saw it in the theater and didn’t laugh as hard as I expected to, but I'd probably watch it one more time if it ever showed up on cable TV.

If it is what it is, what is it?

You're not breaking any new ground here when you say that comedians are weird and troubled people, in general, and they have wild imaginations that go to some dark places. Normal people just aren't funny. You don't sound like a funny person yourself.
