Furnace...

When I watch that scene even to this day, I still hyperventilate.

But I saw the film when I was eleven and the scene had the same effect then as it does now. I was wondering, do filmmakers who make films for children really have a right to subject them to that kind of emotional stress? I know Toy Story 3 would have been a much poorer film had they not included the scene, but still. How far can a filmmaker go, especially when their intended audience is children?

Judy, please, it can't matter to you.

Disney has been testing the limits of this for longer than you've been alive. Presumably their seasoned testers will tell them when enough is enough. Presumably, it hardly ever is.

If the incinerator scene in this made you hyperventilate, never ever watch a Disney film called The Brave Little Toaster, for your own safety.

For me, the other one with the most shockingly intense and brutal scenes would be Hunchback of Notre Dame.
