A Far Better Ending...

would have been the Toys get put in the attic instead of given away, cut to black and it's fifteen years later in the attic, you hear the toys scrambling to get back into the bag and the door opens.Andy's mom tells her grandson Mikey {Andy's son} about his dads toys. She takes the bag out and Mikey opens the bag and one by one the toys are introduced to him and he can now take them to his house. The very last shot is Mikey running into his bedroom {where of coarse} the rooms painted with clouds as he plays with Woody and Buzz, then begins to take out each new character to the tune of you got a friend in me.

It's good, but it's not better.

It's much more powerful to have Andy give them away to the next generation rather than just have the toys sit around for 15 years.

Can't stop the signal.

I love the little girl and I am glad she got the toys.

A better ending would have seen Sid funding Woody and Buzz, remembering his horrifying experience, and breaking them.

^ I like that.

How about if the movies ends with the toys being locked away in a box in the attic. As the attic trap door slowly shuts, and the light slowly fades, you hear Jesse's voice say, "I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart."

I sort of agree. Not that it necessarily happen just like that, but I was always sad that the toys weren't kept for andy's kids. My own children have so many of my old toys that my mom kept for that purpose, and it is so much fun to see them playing with the same things I did as a girl!

And it wouldn't have to have been 15 years, it could have been five-ten.
