help! i didn't get the ending!
so what happened? i just don't really understand.
shareWhat don't you understand? He (cage) was able to see well into the future as long as it had to do with Liz (Jessica Biel/Beil). Is that what you're asking about or???
shareI watched the film last night and at first I thought, "eh? They didn't know how to finish the film so it was all a dream". But then I mulled it over. Cage could only see 2 minutes into the future of HIS life but at one point he said to Jessica Biehl that he could see much further if she was around. All through the film he "sees" different scenarios - like the Diner scene when he approaches Jessica. He knows he's got to help the FBI, he knows Jessica can help him so he gets her into bed. From that point the film is about us seeing one of his scenarios where he can now see hours ahead and not just 2 minutes. In the dockyard and on the ship he can use his 2 minute foresight to pinpoint all the gunmen, explosives etc. Then the bomb goes off and he says "I made a mistake" and he wakes up in bed. He then tells Jessica he'll be back in a week or a month and goes off to help the FBI which becomes either reality or his scenario 2.
shareI agree with both replies, but I think the principle issue with the ending is that it seemed to leave the story with plenty still to be resolved and shown. It wasn't satisfactory.

I agree with you. I felt cheated by the ending. As if there really WAS no ending. It just stopped.
He carries illegal weapons, drives fast cars, and wears clothes obviously designed by a homosexual.
