I hate half made movie from part of a many books

There are many things in the movie unexplained and after searching in google i found out that the movie is only part of a series of a novel which i hate coz i love movies but i don't like read a book so its very disappointing to watch a movie then found out that if you need to understand it then you have to read other 2 or 3 book if thats so then why on earth you make a half made movie ?

Same thing happened with the golden compass which i loved the movie but then found out that you need to read books :( its like releasing japanes 12 episode of anime so the people start to buy manga , i really started to hate new movies .

In truth, the book was written as a one-off book, not as an introduction to a series. The book was published in 1993. The second book came out seven years later. This was when Lowry decided to make it into a series of related books with the third book, coming out eleven years after The Giver, as the first official (and only) sequel to the first two books. Nineteen years after the Giver first came out, we finally get a book that links all three other books together in a single book.

I wish i had time for reading some great books and novels , but watching such movie you get feel cheated .

Ok, you go ahead and write a screen play from a novel and fit every little detail in there and it can't be boring and drawn out and oh yeah the movie studio said it can't go over two and a half hours due to budgeting.

Book on tape man. I've been doing that with the jack reacher novels. Good for road trips. I've read the beginning g of the giver and it was a great book me I got really caught up in it. But my short attention span kept me from finishing it. Book on tape is the next step.

From what I remember, the movie is very much like the book The Giver. I never read the other books so I have the same questions. But this movie never claims to be those other books, so I'm really not disappointed by it.

The movie has some similarities and many differences. The biggest differences came from the changes they made by making the characters older. The romance between Jonas and Fiona was non-existent as was his attempt to influence her. Aster was never a pilot and never had a chance to help Jonas out.

I don't remember any confirmation that the memories returned to the people either. In fact, I think the book had a pretty ambiguous ending. I mean I read it like 20 years ago though so who knows

It wasn't until the third book that there was mention of the village again, but from what i remember, it was better after he left and they got over the initial problems.
