are my braincells reduced to a minimum after watching this piece, or is there an error in the script (about minute 38), where the "elder" talks to jonas' family about his relations to the giver, adressing the giver multiple times as "the receiver"?
shareJonas was the apprentice of sorts to the Receiver of Memories. Only when the training was finished (or rather the completion of giving the memories) would Jonas officially be called the Receiver of Memories.

Jeff Bridges was a Receiver.
When he called himself "the Giver" he was referring to role in training Jonas to be the next Receiver. It was not a formal title.
