Is "Palamino" a subtle/not-so-subtle joke?

I alwats thought that "Palamino" sounded like a stretch of saying " pal of mine", as in "friend of mine", which is all she could be for years to Ryan's character. Anybody else ever get that read?

leyenda61,

Good observation! That is interesting! I think you may be on to something. I actually looked up the name just to see it's roots--just out of curiosity. I guess it's Spanish and Italian.

(Spanish: from palomino ‘squab’, ‘young pigeon’, a derivative of paloma ‘dove’. )

But I think it was on purpose that they picked that name and exactly for the reason you suspect. Maybe the DVD or Blu-ray may have commentary on it.

Good catch. I thought it was cause I wanted to ride her like a horse.
