His physicality with Anna Farris sort of ruins the humor
She's an annoying character but I found it really uncomfortable to watch him dragging her around and forcefully headlocking her.

Almost every interaction with her; like every single time he tried to force her to go with his brother. Just off the top of my head, I'm thinking specifically of a couple scenes where he's trying to get her to go in the car. I just couldn't laugh at those parts even though they tried to play them comically.
shareHe never did that. He just dragged her by the shoulder.
But to be honest, it wouldn't matter if he did do that seeing how her tasing him in the balls, sexually assaulting him (and yes, she did in fact do that), and punching him in the throat far outweighs anything he does to her in the movie. Why aren't you complaining about that? Double standards are bad. Mm'kay?
I don't think I excused her behavior anywhere in my post. My point is simple. Some things you can laugh it, for me, I can't laugh at someone who is so obviously physically weaker, being dragged around forcibly, and yanked this way and that. In the context of historical domestic violence against women, it's hard for me to find humor in situations like that.
shareOkay but he didn't harm her or headlock her? I get what you're saying but he just wanted her to get into the car so his brother could distract her. That scene wasn't meant to be humorous, it was just meant to show you what he was planning on doing to distract her so he could go be with Jamie.
shareYeah I agree with you GoodRed (as I am a woman). I don't see any physical harm Anna Faris went through in this movie by Ryan Reynolds. She was the one that physically assaulted him.
