What happened at the end of the epi 3/5/10?

sharethey go to capture the last of the kids who raped that dude with the baseball bat for revenge. he makes a short speech and then shoots himself. then in the wrap up charlie and amita say they are going to the courthouse or whatever to be married. larry is going to take over chariles job when charlie and amita leave for england.

Does anyone happen to know if this episode was filmed before the decision to end the season early or after? I'm assuming after because of the hurry-up-wedding but it just seemed to me like Alan and his boss (can't remember her name) might be at the start of something - nonprofessional. With the season ending early and possibly ending forever it doesn't make much sense to start up a whole new story line. Or do you think I'm reading too much into the Alan/boss thing? J/W
