That's a dad's prerogative, I'm afraid! He does redeem himself on a pretty regular basis, though...

Alan is awesome!!! He really makes the show along with Larry. Good stuff

Yes, I agree that Alan can be annoying at times, and maybe a little too clingy towards his sons...but he redeems himself.
