Why did Larry keep leaving?

Just finished watching whole show on Netflix!! I'm assuming Peter McNicol had other commitments & was free to come & go!!
I liked the show but never quite believed the math could really solve crimes!! & the annoying way Charlie & Amita basically jumped in front of a screen to "explain" especially one of the last episodes where Amita was dressed up!!

You should read some other threads where we discuss the fact that math can, in fact, solve crimes. There's a book that explains the math used in various episodes of the show. Google it.

Peter was missing during season 3 because he was doing "24" (Day 6).
