Questions about 'Structural Corruption' (spoilers?)

At the beginning of the re-run I am watching, it had a card saying "this is a fictional story ... not based on any character, living or dead." Never seen that before ...

Is this PARTICULARstory-line similar to or based on a true story??

What bridge did the kid jump off of? It's the same one JD & Elliot bungee-jumped off of.

1) The episode is loosely based on the true story of the Citicorp building in New York City. A structural flaw was found in the building a few years after it was built.

2) The disclaimer at the beginning of the episode was placed there by CBS legal to satisfy the concerns of the owners of the building where the episode was shot ... a skyscraper in downtown Los Angeles. They did not want viewers to think their building had a structural flaw in the design.

3) The bridge is the Colorado Bridge in Pasadena. (Not far from Caltech.) It is used by many TV shows and commercials. It is very likely the same bridge used in the Scrubs episode.
