Did it bother anyone else?

Did it bother anyone else that Maggie Grace's character kind of brushed off the fact that she lost the only evidence that would clear a man's name from murder? In fact, her boyfriend was only momentarily concerned. Yeah, I realize that they needed a lead in to discuss the diary and all that crap, but seriously? A man could be convicted for the murder of three people and no one is upset that the evidence has been destroyed?

It bothered me too. I couldn't understand why she hadn't put the damn video camera down while walking across a narrow board over water. I would have also taken the boyfriend straight back to the place so that we could immediately try to find it in the water on the chance that something could have been recovered from the video - even with water damage sometimes things can be pulled or fixed.

But I guess we are supposed to believe that everything else happened so quickly that there was no time - she got attacked by a dead body, they just had to go to a restaurant, and then the **** hit the fan.
