I use to really like this movie. That was until i found out that Seagal hardly does any fighting in this one. It's mostly his doubles. I guess that's why the opening fight scene is shot in the dark. The only time Seagal fights in this one is when he's in prison. This really takes away from the movie for me so i do not like it as much anymore. His best fight in DTV are in Into the Sun, Mercenary for Justice, The Forigner, and Shadow Man. Anyone else agree?

Belly of the Beast has the best fights? Dude, what about the most obvious doubles of all time in any film in this one. Not to mention the super-human strenght he deploys. It's embarrasing to say the least.

belly of the beast was one of seagals most entertaining films of recent years, body doubles or not. i for one would love to go on the seagal diet, where you loose half your body weight as soon as you jump in the air to do a spin kick.

Belly of the Beast is definitely one of Seagal's last real good ones. It has a ton of fight scenes and they are very well choreographed and creative. The use of stunt doubles in that one is also kept at a minimum or at least it isn't as noticable as usual. The first time I watched Today You Die, I didn't mind it. When I viewed it a second time, I was infuriated. They use stunt doubles constantly and it is put together very poorly. The editor should never work again. If it's not Seagal, don't consistently give us clear shots of the stunt double's face. It breaks the construct of reality the filmmakers are trying to make. Even if it is a lame action movie, put some effort in it man!

I also thought the fight scenes in Out for a Kill were pretty good, even though it's not the greatest movie ever either.

Into the Sun is probably my favorite DTV Seagal movie.

also thery were shot that way cos it was a hong kong director and thats what hong kongs films are like.
