Hollywood and backs of monitors
This is not the only movie, where I have noticed that the prop department don't understand how computers or monitors work.
During the small 'press conference' or 'interview' of Nick after he had his idea after staring at the cheese apple pie, we are shown a shot of the female reporter's office, and she drops something she's holding.
Now, when you look at the backs of those big CRT monitors, you can notice something; there are no wires going into them.
Monitors, like any electrical devices, especially during the year this movie was made, need power. They also need a connection to a computer (or something similar), or they are completely useless. We are supposed to believe this is a big newspaper's office during work hours, filled with people that work there, and yet the monitors have NO CABLES OR WIRES at the back going into them.
To put it simply; a monitor usually needs at least TWO cables connected to it for the monitor to be useful: the power cable (so the monitor can be powered on), and the connecting cable between the monitor and the computer, so the computer's picture can be displayed by the monitor.
I mean, how many movies has to have this mistake? It's one thing to show Neo not even having his monitor on in one movie, but it's a completely different thing to show people supposedly working in an office, where no monitor is connected to anything, not even the power grid.
WHAT is up with hollywood and this really weird mistake? Are they this computer illiterate?
