I was asked if I wanted a smoke several times, if I said no, they never presure you, and they never ask that day again. I smoke some Cuban cigars sometimes in weekend, maybe every second month at most
the OP was talking about peer pressure with smoking. in reality, if you don't want a cigarette, or if you don't want to start smoking cigarettes, nobody cares. if the people around you push you into smoking cigarettes, then what the hell are you doing hanging around those people? they're obviously freakin laaaaaame. if somebody pushed me into smoking a cigarette, i'd be out of there in a second. if you really need to smoke a cigarette to "fit in", you're automatically lame forever.
I kind of find this statement ironic. Isn't there more peer pressure to not smoke and to diet and eat healthy and exercise than there is for people to smoke?
A book from around the same time which thoroughly documents the preponderant influence of peer pressure is James Coleman's class sociological work, Adolescent Society.
To state the obvious, just because one individual doesn't succumb to peer pressure in one area doesn't mean that "peer pressure is a lie."
your an idiot. peer pressure is in everything. forget about how your started smoking, how many people have PRESSURED you to stop? Was it friends of yours or family or PEERS????
