The Non Smoking Era

It's hard to be a smoker in this day and age. It's banned in most public places now and is not acceptable in a lot of homes. The non smoking population has increased and there's many who hate the smell of it.

I'm a smoker and only smoke at home or outdoors.

The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

i think it's a good thing. but i also think many people who are so standoffish about it couldn't care less about more dangerous things

Yeah, I grew up in the era where every coffee table had a hubcap-sized ashtray in the middle of it and it was a social grace to invite people to smoke in your home. Those days are long gone by now, thanks to aggressive campaigning by insurance companies and "associations".

But recently I was in a smoker's home during a football party and it was intolerable to me. Without adequate ventilation, it's just overbearing.

So I don't mind the new era. As a smoker myself, I've been able to adjust just fine, though I still advocate a person's and a business-owner's CHOICE to allow smoking or not. Government interference is unwelcome and unnecessary.
