They Need To Make One Of these Movies For Guns

A sharp libertarian movie with a witty comedic edge about gun ownership.

Just a story about how most gun bills get written would be comedy GOLD!

I mean Diane Feinstein and other democrat (and a few RINOs) actually opened an issue of Gun Digest thumbed through it for the scariest guns they saw and dubbed them "assault weapons" guns which were functionally the same as less scarey looking arms.

Seriously, you can't write stuff better than this. Calling Glocks "the plastic gun which can foil metal detectors." These people are either too stupid for words or just lie to get their useless laws which do nothing to reduce violence passed.

There are enough ignorant and gullible people to pass almost any law banning a product. Just look at the people who would be led to ban dihydrogen monoxidehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dihydrogen_monoxide_hoax

What can be said about personal choice and responsibility in owning a firearm that wasn't already said in this film? Make an adult choice and use responsibly. I don't think a 2-hour movie can really augment that perspective in any way.

The real problem is in lobbyists and the personal responsibility to vote in and keep to task our representatives to stop oppression when and wherever possible. This includes not oppressing the right to own a gun, smoke a cigarette, sell alcoholic energy drinks as well as the right to marry a same-sex partner.

Aye. The haggis is in the fire for sure.

I think a 2 hour movie may be necessary to educate the public, all they do is watch TV and this is why they think guns are evil and getting rid of guns makes people safer (the opposite is true). If a Hollywood actor says all of this, they will believe.

I agreed with most of what you said until the final stretch. My views on gay marriage are a little different. But probably not in the way you think. I don't believe in state licensing of marriage at all. If you're religious like I am, then being married in the eyes of God should be enough. If you're gay youshould have a ceremony of some kind and wherever that is accepted. It won't be in most Churches as they are not in favor of those marriages on moral grounds, and in a free society they have every right to refuse things they are against.

I also don't believe in income taxes, so in a world which would work marriage wouldn't be needed as a state sponsored union.

I pretty much agree that the state has no business in the marriage industry (nor should there be any favors, tax breaks, etc.). I do think there ought to be a contract (not a useless license, WTF?) especially with regards to the economics, assets and offspring that result from such partnerships.

BUT if the state's going to be involved, then by definition, they must not oppress people from using government services- including marriage licenses.

Pro gun like this movie was pro smoking. Brutally honest. This film was about a character who spun the truth about everything, except as the viewer, this movie pulled the wool off of the whole debate. It was brilliant.

Guns are just too much fun for anyone to poke fun at them.

I carry a gun because I'm not strong enough to carry a cop around.

reply

I wouldn't carry a cop around anyway. They're useless until the assault has already happened. They can't stop a fist from hitting your nose. They can only respond to that fist after it hits.

I think it's the closest to gun control satire.

Make it a spin off with David Koechner as the star! That would be great. But you wouldn't want it to be a carbon copy of the film.

This thread is quite old but I just want to say we do have Lord of War which came out in the same year. Well not exactly like this one but it has similarities.
