One of the reasons I love this film, both versions!!

I am a checkerboard girl as do date outside of my own race, its not easy to find Native American Indians in the UK!

Though have had racial abuse from both sides, some Muslim lads followed me onto a bus after I said bye to my then boyfriend, started poking me and asking why was "ashamed to date my own people" and the bus driver actually stopped and threw them off as he knew me as was a regular on that bus, I always got him a black coffee :)

Then another time I was holding hands with a different ex and just walking down the street when some white lads started giving us hassle saying stuff like "Cant get a white girl huh?" and threw empty bottles at us. They stopped and ran after a police car slowed down and gave us both a lift to his house...

I do kinda like having a quiet life and non-hectic!

As the quote goes in the film for inter-racial dating?

Yeah, I really don't understand the big hubbub that still happens even today over a mixed race couple. If you have someone who makes you happy race really is irrelevant.

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

I still hold hands and skip with my friends even now!! We're now in our 30s!!

...though yeah we have to be 'a wee bit drunky' to skip lols!

I just will never understand why people hold so much hatred towards inter-racial couples...and hope that never do!
