Can't Stop the Beat: the only thing worse than John Travolta...

...was Harvey Fierstein. I think they're fine in their roles, but their singing on this particular song (in their respective versions) absolutely ruins it. It starts and ends so well, but that awful bleating/croaking. Fierstein's voice is stomach-churning.

That said, my brother and I saw the original way back when. It's absolutely the best.

Fierstein reprised his role on Wednesday's live version opposite Martin Short.Both them and Christopher Walken/Travolta were wonderful. I hope to go to new York WHEN the original comes back to Broadway (yes, it's a stage show so it's not just Broadway bt it would be neat..inevitably a revival is on the way..)
