After all that is over then they give the guy a smoke and try to preach to him. The reason for the preaching is Dog and other members of his family have had substance abuse problems and part of recovery is giving back. They feel guilty for the damage they caused in their own addictions so they try to make up for it by trying to steer the bail jumpers down the right path.
