Kevin Smith likes to have the beta male used by the popular girl who constantly cheats on him in his movies. Gwen was with and cheated on T.S. (once with Rick Derris, just like Caitlin) in Mallrats as well.

When Becky said that Emma was the type of girl that wouldn't give him the time of day in High School, that's a little off because he dated Caitlin in High School, a girl that a lot of guys were into.

And not just guys, if you've seen Chasing Amy. Caitlin Bree makes Snooki look like a nun.
