Innocent or not?? **Spoilers*

As far as pedophelia is concerned, i think it's a very difficult subject to speculate about because there's not much concrete proof of him breaking any laws. Pedophelia is obviously sick but it's not a choice, oftentimes pedos are naturally attracted to young boys and girls. If they act on it, then they clearly deserve complete jail time and all consequences. But we don't know if he ever acted on underaged girls, other than taking pictures. The film definitely points to him being a pedophile nonetheless, but in the trivia section, it states "During an interview panel for the film the director revealed that Jeff ( Patrick Wilson) was telling the truth he did not commit the crime Hayley accused him of."
I found this pretty interesting because (unless i understood it wrong) this means that he has been innocent (in terms of the specific rape and kill crime that he's been accused) the entire film, which is something that many people have been speculating back and forth on.
Did anyone else notice this?

so you have a direct quote except for the trivia section, because the way it is have described there, it is either oversimplifying things or isn't a truly accurate summary of what he said.

about the murder: he admitted to being at the scene of the crime when it happened and wanted to take pictures. ergo: he did the crime. was he the one who actually murdered her? who knows? does it matter? not at all. he also knew details that only someone who was there could have known.

about hailey's other accusations: she had no evidence to connect to the murder, she threatened him into suicide with the pictures from the vault alone. if he is willing to rather take his life than have those pics leaked, it is 100% sure that what's on the pics is baaaad as well as illegal.

he was not innocent in both cases.

there is also no question throughout the film if he seeks out minors. the way he tried to get to hailey for example or as she said that she was online under different profiles, but jeff only went for the 14 year old (the others being 15 and 16), then "convinced" her to meet in public, lied to her in regards of his supposed "youthfull and hip" tastes (e.g. Goldfrapp) and finally trying to make her drunk.

it's all pretty clear.

one thing is still in the open though. not that it would matter, but did hailey really know the girl that got killed?
