I've never in my life rooted for a pedophile before

Ellen Page's character was so insane and annoying that I found myself rooting for that pedophile creep. When the movie was done I felt disgusted with the entire thing.

That's the whole point of this movie. To play with the tropes, and make you feel both uncomfortably supportive of the "villain" (at times), and uncomfortably afraid of the "hero" (at other times)

I felt the same way. I typically hate every character Ellen Page has ever played, except Sylvia in "An American Crime." This movie made me sick to my stomach and I wanted her to get busted by the police. Actually, I wanted Jeff to live, so he could answer questions about where the missing girl's body is.
