Why Hailey would be caught & Jeffs pedophilia dismissed

First off, my thought throughout the movie was "If she called the police or if he turned himself in my first thoughts as a cop would be SET-UP."

He'll have rope burns around his ankles, wrists and neck. He'll have the medication she gave him in his system. His clothes are dirty, wet, and potentially covered in blood- and his crotch area has a ghetto trim job. (The surgery was fake, but he winces when she shaves him- probably cutting him) unless she washed and dried his clothes he'd have the fake blood on his underwear and pants too.

His "suicide note" states he tried to shoot himself, either there's no gun (where did it go?) or there's 2 missing bullets...why was he shooting it off outside? He "failed to shoot himself" on the roof, went inside, wrote it, went onto the roof and hung himself?

SO...at this point they'll conclude it's a homicide. Fishy as *beep* and there was obviously a struggle. They'll ask around and his neighbor who came by will explain that he had his niece over- who doesn't exist. She had a cut on her forehead, was sweaty, stammering, zoned out, and was on the roof prior to him dying- coincidentally where he hung himself, looking for an imaginary leak. He doesn't have food poisoning or any illness, even more suspicious, obviously tying her to his murder.

They'll post his picture and a sketch of Hailey on the news; the people who saw them at the diner will come forward and they'll have video/pictures of Hailey; they'll post that on a news and she'll eventually be found.

Upon her investigation she's *beep* for obvious reasons; but the be all end all will be the phone conversation she has with her friend that would be traced to within the house, placing her at the murder, linking her with his torture and coerced suicide. There's no explaining how he was tied up, why she was there, where she went, or anything else. I doubt she could wipe all her prints off, but if they're gone how is that possible? She was clearly inside the house- they'll conclude she wiped everything down, that's really suspicious.

Jeffs child porn collection neatly displayed will seem like an obvious blackmail tactic and so may his search results; not that they'd be publicized anyways. His safe was broken into, he was tied up and some weird *beep* went down, and suddenly there's blackmail worthy stuff in his house and he killed himself. Hmmm, wonder why he did that now?

She'll either take the punishment for murder and get *beep* by the judicial system or mention Aaron in defense of killing pedophiles- indicting herself in another murder to paint him as a pedophile. Both will see like blackmail and it probably won't work, once again not like they'd publicize "girl kills pedophile x and y", their pedophilia would go undiscovered and wrote off as blackmail and she'll have ruined her life, being institutionalized and dealing with constant check-ups by law enforcement and psychiatrists.

My first go through of this movie made me think it was a brilliant piece of cinematography but my second viewing made me really focus on how they painted her conducting the perfect crime and getting away with it while she'd most definitely be caught.

Adding some points to this and some explanations:

Rope burn/bruises on limbs-

1. If you're tied hard enough that you CANNOT escape you'd have bruises.
2. He tried REALLY HARD multiple times to escape, his wrists and ankles would be a mess.
3. Moved a table he was tied to multiple feet to get to a phone, throwing his weight against it.
4. Would have bruises from the bath tub scuffle.

His neighbors interview-

If someone kills themselves the police inherently question neighbors, friends, family. It would be quickly discovered he has injuries which may implicate a homicide, so they'd really buckle down their efforts in questioning witnesses.

Sketch/pictures-

It would be found out he doesn't have a niece Hailey and no one should have been at his house, they inherently would ask for a sketch of the person who she stood face to face with for several minutes, a foot away talking to.

Blackmail scenario-

I think we can all agree it looks like a clear case of blackmail, those pictures on display spell out BLACKMAIL or at least an enemy trying to tarnish his reputation; there's no reason why HE'D do that.

Linking to Aaron-

She states she ran Aaron through the same ordeal, so a similar story would pop up- man kills himself with child porn on display for world to see. It would seem like an apparent case of a serial blackmailer/killer at this point and they'd increase their investigation ten fold, especially now that they have a face for the killer.

so, did they catch you yet?

I didn't read all this mess because there's just no need.
First off, y'all are taking for granted that the police are going to even be interested in finding a killer. Haylie had her ducks pretty well lined up. You can bet that while Jeff was copping some zzzzz's in the hall, Haylie was making sure that his stash was easy to find. Even if she left the silly email on his laptop, there's still no way to connect it to her. It would be easy to think that some dad/brother/uncle/whatever, came over and did this. When Jeff asks her if she'll clean up, she says she will, he goes down, and she says, "Or not."
When Haylie called Jeanine, she did pretend to be a cop, but they have no way to connect a phony name that is most likely not hers to start with to the caller. And from Ms. T's description, they'll run out of cops before running out of teen girls.
She's VERY smart, VERY driven, and this ain't her first rodeo. She's walkin'.

I suspect also that Jeff's suicide wouldn't be just written off. He's got enough trauma on his body to show that a major scuffle happened prior to the "suicide," and in tune with "where did the gun go?" it might still be on the roof, giving some evidence that Jeff may have been forced at gunpoint to step over the edge.

reply

I think she would be caught, but not punished very much.

reply

Yeah, totally. The penalty for torturing and murdering someone is usually a ticket and a hard slap on the wrist.

reply

People keep forgetting, or just never realizing, that she wasn't targeting him because he was a pedophile but a person who participated in the rape and murder of a young female.

reply

Oh, ok. I guess the penalties given to someone who has sadisticly tortured and driven someone to suicide are overridden if the person who committed the crime feels that what they did was justified. Im gonna go shoot my neighbors dog because it keeps barking at night and *beep* on my lawn and im sure the law wont apply to me because in MY eyes he deserves it.

The law is the law and just because YOU feel its ok to cut off someones balls and drive them to killing themselves because youre under the impression that theyve done something wrong, doesnt mean that they dont have the right to a trial and to defend themselves in a court of law.

BRAVO!!
He might've been a perv but it wasn't definite that he was guilty of anything illegal.
Admonishments of guilt under duress is almost always false.
But she was definitely a sick psychotic kunt and should've been killed or at least imprisoned for the rest of her life.
